Lean is a set of principles and tools that are applicable to all areas of business. The people responsible for returning cost savings in their area of control will find this seminar to be very stimulating. This seminar is aimed at anyone with a desire to improve their business performance.
The purpose of the seminar is to deliver a firm understanding of what Lean is really all about. All the tools of Lean will be explained individually and then brought together to show the interrelationship of each. The seminar will help everyone to understand the benefits of a Lean, flexible organisation through the application of the Lean Tools.
Lean Manufacturing should, perhaps, be referred to as Lean Systems as it is a set of principles that can be applied to any operation whether it is purely commerce or the action of making a product. Documentation of all types needs to be 'manufactured' i.e. data is gathered, then assembled, then inspected before despatch!
The focus of the seminar is to enable attendees to see how Lean can reduce costs and increase productivity through waste elimination. The quality of the product produced will rise also as a result of these tools being applied.
All delegates will be provided with a clear explanation of the most significant tools and techniques of a Lean System. Each delegate will receive a manual that can be retained for future reference. Tangible benefits will be taken away by each delegate.
The tools and techniques that will be described and explained through the seminar are as follows:
Practical exercises and discussions will take place throughout.
At the end of the overview we will spend some time looking in more detail at 5S. We'll spend time understanding what we really mean by 5S and then show a practical example of the true benefits of good 5S. The example will show significant increases in productivity that can be achieved in any work environment.

"What a great seminar. Although I have worked on Lean Six Sigma projects in the past, this was a great refresher to the techniques and thought processes of lean improvement. Mick really makes the subject come alive, and although much of Lean is manufacturing-based he has the knowledge and experience to make the various topics very relevant to the service sector. I came away feeling energised, and full of ideas that I will apply to a forthcoming improvement project. It was also a great opportunity to talk through problems and potential solutions with others from completely different industries. Many seminars gloss over subjects but this was a really comprehensive run-through many of the aspects of lean, and was full of practical and 'real world' examples. Mick's experience and knowledge brings everything together in a very usable format" January 2014
